Location and system data

If you choose “Use my current location,” your browser asks permission before sharing coordinates. Coordinates and solar-system inputs are sent to this site’s server so it can request a location label from the U.S. Census Geocoder and an energy estimate from the official PVWatts service. This site does not save those inputs in an application database.

Advertising

This site uses Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to deliver, measure, and personalize advertising, subject to Google’s policies and your available consent choices. You can manage personalized-ad settings through Google’s ad controls.

Optional solar quote requests

If you submit the optional quote-request form, the site processes the contact details, property information, consent choice, and calculator context you provide so your request can be delivered by FormSubmit to Roof Solar Calc and, where applicable, a solar provider. That provider may contact you about solar products or services. The form is voluntary, and consent to contact is not a condition of purchase.

Do not enter sensitive personal information in the notes field. Quote-request information may be retained as needed to respond to your request, document consent, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. You may ask the provider who contacts you about its own privacy and deletion practices.

Third-party services

Requests may be processed by the site’s hosting provider, the U.S. Census Bureau, the National Laboratory of the Rockies’ PVWatts service, FormSubmit, and Google AdSense. Each provider processes data under its own privacy terms.

Your choices

You can deny browser location access and enter coordinates manually. You can also manage or block cookies through your browser and use Google’s advertising controls. Blocking some services may limit location lookup or advertising features but will not create an account.

Changes

This notice may be updated as the calculator or its service providers change. The revision date at the top identifies the current version.
